In this generation, the dating culture is solely based on hook ups, one night stands, and having a roster. It has become difficult to get to know a person and truly knowing their intentions.

Rosters: I see tik tok videos about people saying that having a list of people they are talking to is normal, and you aren’t “putting all your eggs in one basket.” Which I am trying to understand that, but you are also technically not respecting the person you are talking to by talking to multiple people. You will get to the same result on whether or not they are the person for you.

Talking to one person at a time means focusing fully on that person and showing them who you are. But know that after a first date, no one should expect anything in return. Dating should be the first stage of talking, asking the other person questions about them, seeing what its like being with them in person with friends, and in events.

Communicating Feelings: Dating now-a-days sometimes means not knowing where the person stands or what their intentions are. If you can’t express your feelings with someone, not only by actions, but also with words – maybe that’s something you have to work on before losing someone just because they are confused on wether or not you are interested in them or are looking for something fun.

Which actually brings me to my next point, do not use people for your own personal use. What is the point of leading someone on? Why lie to them if you actually have someone else in your life? What do you possibly get from it? Are you looking at choices to see who you actually want to be with?

This blog is for everyone, not matter your gender. In this generation, we may think that there is no one out there for us. But from someone who is in the same spot, I want to say, chin up because you are unique. Don’t try to be other people just because it works for them, be who you are. The person you are looking for will love all of your quirkiness, weirdness, goofy self and other aspects of you- it’s something that they also have and are looking for. So even in this generation, if one date doesn’t work out, you will learn something about what you are looking for and this is just another person more to get to who you are really meant to be with.
